    My Personal Recommendations:

    Humidity and Your Acoustic Guitar

Acoustic guitars need the right level of humidity to stay healthy.
A Hygrometer , Humidipack , or Humidifier isn't an extra luxury — it's a basic necessity for any acoustic guitar.
Without proper humidity control, the top and back of your guitar can swell or shrink, which can lead to:

    - Cracked top
    - Loose bridge or complete bridge lift
    - High/Low String action
    - Dull, lifeless tone
    - Loose internal bracings

Keep the humidity between 45–60% both in and around your guitar, and take action when it drifts outside that range.
    - If humidity is above 60% , move the guitar to a drier location.
    - If humidity is below 45% , add moisture using a humidifier or humidipack.

    Recommended products:

When to come to Andreasson Musik to do a maintenance service on your guitar?

I personally recommend doing a basic setup and restring every 1.5 to 3 months , depending on how often you play and a few other factors.
A guitar is made mostly of wood, which is affected by humidity, heat, cold, and temperature changes. These conditions can influence the neck bow, strings, and hardware since everything expands and contracts over time.

If you're gigging or rehearsing a lot, you might want to service it closer to every 1–1.5 months rather than every few months like someone who only plays once a week.
If you notice that your guitar is getting harder to play, or you need to press more firmly on the strings to get a clean tone, it's probably time to bring it in for a setup.
If you notice sudden string buzzing or fret buzzing  while playing or bending notes, or if the guitar becomes uncomfortable or unplayable, it's definitely time for a setup.

Every instrument needs regular maintenance — unfortunately, that's something many musicians don't realize.

My biggest recommendation is to do a full overhaul once a year — a deep cleaning, full inspection, and any needed repairs — and a setup and restring every 3 months max to keep your guitar in top condition.
This will help prevent warping and damage to the neck, body, and hardware, keeping your instrument playing great for decades — as long as you don't set it on fire or smash it on stage.

    Factory Setup vs. Player Setup

There are two types of setups: Factory Spec Setup and Player Setup .
When you pick up your guitar after a service that includes a setup, we usually restore it to factory specifications — the standard measurements set by the manufacturer.

A Player Setup , on the other hand, is customized to your playing style :
    - If you play lightly, you can keep a lower setup for an easier, faster feel.
    - If you're a hard hitter or heavy strummer , you might prefer a slightly higher setup to prevent fret buzz or string rattle.

We're always happy to fine-tune your guitar together with you in person when you pick it up after service or repair — so it feels perfect and comfortable for your style of playing.
